First NEUROLITH in Ukraine: BRAINSPOT LVIV now treats Alzheimer's patients with TPS

Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS®) celebrates its debut in Ukraine: The first NEUROLITH® system was installed in the western Ukrainian city and cultural centre of Lviv (approx. 750,000 inhabitants) on 12 January 2022. Now, Alzheimer's patients can receive treatment at »BRAINSPOT LVIV«, a clinic for neuromodulation (Director: Tomas Dzeminskyy, Chief Medical Officer: Andrii Hul). The first therapy sessions have already taken place.

Dr Bodnia, STORZ MEDICAL's partner for Ukraine and Georgia, has worked very hard on this project. Thanks to his great commitment, the installation of the next NEUROLITH® will follow in the capital Kyiv at the end of March 2022. The increasing interest shows that TPS® is also in demand among patients in regions of crisis and tension.

About TPS treatment
Alzheimer's is a very common disease and unfortunately the treatment options available so far are only effective to a limited extent. So it is all the more pleasing to see the first clinic in Ukraine offer TPS® as a non-invasive, drug-free treatment for patients. A major advantage of TPS® is that no harmful heat is generated in the treatment area, as is the case with other procedures.

Furthermore, a significant correlation between the neuropsychological improvement and an increase in cortical thickness in critical brain regions for Alzheimer's was found after TPS® treatment.

In 2018, Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS®) with the NEUROLITH® system was approved as the first and up to now the only procedure of its kind for the »Treatment of the central nervous system of patients with Alzheimer's disease«.
